Recently, the Chinese Society for Nonferrous Metals and the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association officially announced the 2025 Nonferrous Metals Industry Science and Technology Award winners.

IET received the First Prize of China Nonferrous Metals Industry Science and Technology Award in the field of powder metallurgy titanium materials manufacturing.

This is a systematic breakthrough achieved by IET through long-term commitment to the design and preparation of high-performance metallic materials to meet major national strategic needs.It highlights the institute’s academic leadership and technological innovation in the frontier field of metallic materials, and reflects its important role in serving national strategies and promoting industrial progress.

Industrial Development and Application of High-Performance Titanium Alloy Miniature Complex Precision Structural Components

Led by Researcher Lu Xin and Associate Researcher Pan Yu of IET,the project was jointly developed with Shenzhen Ailijia Material Technology Co., Ltd., Xiaomi Communications Co., Ltd., Goertek Co., Ltd. and other enterprises.The team carried out comprehensive and systematic research on the industrial development and application of high-performance titanium alloy miniature complex structural components, and successfully realized the localization and large-scale production of related products.The project achieved full-chain innovation from basic research to industrial transformation, with independent breakthroughs in core links including low-cost titanium powder preparation, new binder development and sintering process control.

It has broken the long-term foreign technological monopoly, strongly promoted the independent innovation and sustainable development of the miniature complex titanium alloy component manufacturing industry, and provided key support for the independent control of high-end equipment manufacturing and industrial chains.
