With the trust and strong support of Tangshan Donghua Iron and Steel Enterprise Group Co., Ltd. (Tangshan Donghua), IET relying on its profound technical expertise, has helped Tangshan Donghua achieve a major breakthrough on its 1580 mm hot strip rolling line: 1.0mm ultra-thin gauge hot rolled strip has been successfully rolled.This landmark achievement marks a critical leap for Tangshan Donghua in the production of ultra-thin hot rolled products and further strengthens its capabilities in ultra-thin gauge rolling technology.

Donghua 1580 mm hot strip rolling line was put into operation on February 20, 2025. After successfully reaching the designed minimum target of 1.2 mm, the team did not stop there, but launched a technical challenge to the 1.0mm ultra-thin gauge.Thin-gauge strip production has long been a technical difficulty for conventional hot strip rolling lines.Rolling 1.0mm ultra-thin strip presents multiple challenges, including difficult flatness control and poor threading stability, imposing stringent requirements on production organization, process control, model setup and equipment precision.

Facing these challenges, IET collaborated closely with professional teams from Donghua Hot Rolling Mill, including production, process, mechanical, electrical and automation engineering.Joint efforts were made in production organization, core process parameter regulation, precise rolling model setup, equipment calibration and control logic optimization, with a focus on the high-precision control of the Level 1 and Level 2 automation systems of the Donghua 1580 mm hot rolling line.Through a series of technical breakthroughs, the key technical difficulties in ultra-thin gauge rolling were successfully overcome, demonstrating IET’s strong capabilities in technological innovation and engineering transformation.
