To accelerate the construction of the industrial digitalization project of Valin ArcelorMittal Automotive Steel Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as VAMA), consolidate an integrated technical infrastructure for enterprise industrial data storage, transmission and application, and standardize the deployment, operation and maintenance of the iBKhistory time-series database as well as standardized operational workflows for the IOT data collection platform, the Institute of Engineering Technology of USTB (IET,USTB) recently delivered a special technical training session on Intelligent Industrial Data Collection and Digital Infrastructure Development at the Changping Innovation Park. Frontline technical backbones from VAMA and Loudi Valin V-CLOUD participated in the training, with core technical specialists Chen Jie, Wang Wei and Li Kexin from the Information Technology Department of IET,USTB serving as instructors. Centered on two core modules – the iBKhistory time-series database and the IOT data collection platform – the training adopted an integrated model combining theoretical lectures and hands-on practice, delivering content closely aligned with real project scenarios that balances practicality and implementability.

Covering the full-process core technologies for digital infrastructure construction, the training systematically delivered instruction across three core segments: deployment, operation and maintenance of the iBKhistory time-series database, hands-on data access, and IOT platform application development. For database deployment and maintenance, instructors systematically explained standardized installation environment configuration, server parameter specifications, directory planning, service startup/shutdown, secure password configuration and other deployment essentials, while demonstrating core daily operations including basic SQL commands, operational monitoring, and data backup and recovery. In the data access module, hands-on sessions illustrated data flow via protocols such as MQTT, criteria for judging data quality, and integration methods for new equipment, establishing an end-to-end pipeline from data collection to storage. For IOT platform application and development, the training covered batch import of equipment points, dual-protocol data forwarding (MQTT/OPC UA), system operation monitoring, data anomaly cleansing and other practical skills, alongside advanced applications of the iBKhistory database, Python docking development and troubleshooting for common issues, reinforcing a secure foundation for industrial data storage.

Closely tailored to VAMA’s intelligent manufacturing scenarios, this targeted and focused training established standardized, systematic workflows for operation, maintenance and development of the industrial data infrastructure. Through systematic practical training, participants mastered the full set of core capabilities spanning database deployment & maintenance, data collection & access, and platform operation & development, improved the integrated workflow covering data collection, storage and application, and effectively enhanced their practical digital operation and fault resolution capabilities. Moving forward, IET,USTB will continue to launch regular special technical training and exchanges based on project delivery demands, continuously upgrade the professional competence of its technical team, empower industrial enterprises to advance digital and intelligent transformation with specialized technologies, and deliver efficient, stable technical support and service guarantees for cooperative projects.
