On March 1, the sub-forum themed "AI + Smart Steel" of the 4th Beijing Artificial Intelligence Industry Innovation and Development Conference concluded at the China National Convention Center. Co-hosted by the People’s Government of Mentougou District, Beijing, University of Science and Technology Beijing, MCC Capital Engineering & Research Incorporation Limited and North China University of Technology, the forum brought together industry experts and scholars for in-depth exchanges.

At the opening ceremony, Academician LüZhaoping, President of University of Science and Technology Beijing, delivered a speech. He noted that USTB has long proactively aligned with the development demands of the steel industry, taken AI-enabled industrial upgrading as its core thread, and collaborated with key domestic steel enterprises to carry out technical research. These joint efforts have accelerated the implementation of core technologies including digital twins, intelligent R&D and automatic intelligent inspection, gradually fostering the influential "IET,USTB" brand across the industry. Faced with the new wave of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation, USTB will continue to partner with enterprises and research institutes to explore new paths for in-depth integration of industry, university, research and application. It will empower intelligent steel manufacturing with AI, contributing to the construction of a technology powerhouse and a manufacturing powerhouse.
