On April 24, 2026, the launch ceremony for the "Digital R&D Platform V1.0" of Nanjing Steel Group Co., Ltd. was grandly held in Nanjing. He Anrui, Party Secretary of IET,USTBand Chairman of Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd.USTB, Jing Fengwei, Deputy General Manager ofDesign & Research Institute,USTB, Huang Yixin, Party Secretary and Chairman of NANJING STEEL GROUP, QiaoMingliang, Vice President, Sun Maojie, CIO and Assistant to the President, Chen Linheng, Dean of New Materials Research Institute, and core technical backbones of the project team witnessed this milestone moment together.

Chen Linheng delivered a report on the progress of digital R&D work, introducing NANJING STEEL GROUP’s practices in digital simulation and big data during the 14th Five-Year Plan period and outlining future ideas for digital R&D transformation. Afterwards, the project team presented a report on the construction of the digital R&D platform and conducted an on-site system demonstration.

He Anrui expressed gratitude for NANJING STEEL GROUP’s full trust and comprehensive support. He stated that the digital R&D platform is far more than a simple IT system; it is a composite engineering solution deeply tailored to steel R&D businesses and industrial scenarios that can only be successfully implemented through close coordination between production and research teams. Initiated in 2022 after multiple rounds of discussion and iteration, the official launch of Version 1.0 marks the completion of a phased milestone. Moving forward, IET,USTB will further deepen cooperation with NANJING STEEL GROUP to refine and optimize the platform, providing replicable and promotable practical solutions and technical support for digital R&D transformation across the steel industry.

Huang Yixin highly commended the construction achievements of the digital R&D platform and thanked the IET,USTB team and NANJING STEEL GROUP project members for their dedicated efforts. He pointed out that the launch of the digital R&D platform represents a historic breakthrough in NANJING STEEL GROUP’s R&D innovation, signifying the steel industry’s shift from traditional manual R&D to human-machine collaborative digital R&D and entering a new paradigm of intelligent research and development. Taking this launch as a new starting point, NANJING STEEL GROUP will deepen coordination with ecological partners, accelerate platform iteration and upgrading, fully advance digital R&D, build an industry benchmark, and contribute to the high-end, intelligent and green transformation of China’s steel industry.

As a core component of NANJING STEEL GROUP’s strategic layout of "digitizing all businesses and commercializing all digital assets", the Digital R&D Platform V1.0 project was initiated in 2022 and jointly developed by IET,USTB and NANJING STEEL GROUPJinheng Technology. Leveraging R&D knowledge management and cloud simulation computing, the platform realizes digital design driven by knowledge and virtual trial-and-error testing. Supported by a collaborative R&D process platform, it streamlines, standardizes and refines the full online R&D workflow, ultimately enabling intelligent transformation of enterprise R&D models.
