Recently, Xiangsteel Group and the Institute of Engineering Technology, USTB (hereinafter "IET, USTB") grandly convened the kickoff meeting for the "Xiangsteel Digital R&D Support Platform (Phase I)" project in Xiangtan, Hunan. Shao Jian, Deputy Dean of the Institute of Engineering Technology and Executive Deputy General Manager of Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., USTB, Yao Jianhua, Director of Xiangsteel's Technical Center (Iron and Steel Research Institute), Huang Yiyu, Director of the Digital Intelligence Research Institute, Ju Yinjun, Chief Engineer of the Plate Business Unit, Pan Xiquan, Chief Engineer of the Special Steel Business Unit, together with responsible persons and technical backbones of relevant business units, attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Shao Jian expressed gratitude for the trust and support given by Xiangsteel Group. He stated that IET, USTB will go all out to ensure the rapid implementation of the project. At the same time, he required the project team to communicate well, plan before acting, make the R&D system conform to Xiangsteel's characteristics, and realize an online closed loop of R&D–production–quality.

Yao Jianhua pointed out that the Xiangsteel Digital R&D Support Platform project is an important milestone for the two sides to deepen strategic cooperation and jointly promote the digital and intelligent transformation of Xiangsteel Group's R&D–production–sales system. He hoped that the two teams would take this as an opportunity, collaborate closely, and advance efficiently, so that the system truly fits Xiangsteel's actual R&D and production and substantially improves the work efficiency of R&D personnel.

Huang Yiyu highly recognized the significance of the project construction for Xiangsteel's digital, informatized, and intelligent transformation, and hoped that the system would strengthen product planning and design-development functions, facilitate the grasp of R&D layout and project progress, and help Xiangsteel Group enhance its product R&D capabilities.

The "Xiangsteel Digital R&D Support Platform (Phase I)" is an important strategic deployment for Xiangsteel to target the high-end steel market and accelerate digital and intelligent transformation. It is also a concrete practice of the enterprise's strategy of deeply cultivating the industry, leading the region, and being "half a step ahead" in R&D and marketing. The project will comprehensively cover the Technical Center, the Plate Business Unit, and the Special Steel Business Unit, and comprehensively enhance R&D capabilities around the digitalization of the product realization process and the digitalization of R&D business processes.
